Donate Your Birthday To World Vision!
This year, instead of gifts, have your friends and family support World Vision with a donation in your name!
Even if your birthday is months away, you can join the community of people supporting World Vision today!
World Vision is a Christian relief, development and advocacy organization dedicated to working with children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice.
People Supporting World Vision
There are millions of children and families out there in this world, that we don't always get to see more of outside of our normal lavished life, who have close to nothing. You may not be a millionaire but if you can afford to buy even a coffee in the morning or a sandwich for lunch everyday, you have more than these people ever will.
World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organization focused on working with children, families, and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice.
You can't change the world overnight, but you can take that first step to do so. If we all join hands in helping our world, we can undoubtedly make an impact.
My personal favorite is the Gift Giving Catalog under "Ways to Give". How about a couple chickens for some hungry kids?
World Vision assists people who are in great need, especially children. We are blessed with great resources in the USA and often forget that not everyone is living the same situation. They, too, are in partnership with financially accountable organizations such as Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability and carry great Gospel-centered motives in their work.
World Vision is involved in a myriad of ways helping people in developing and underdeveloped areas around the world. They help provide micro funding, medical, educational, and financial community support, support for girls who have suffered from sexual exploitation and support for children affected by warfare, disaster relief, as well as build wells. They have been around for over 50 years and are a highly respected relief organization.
My sister and I have been donating to this charity for years. We have given a child sponsorship (Luis Carlos from Honduras) to our parents every Christmas in lieu of gifts. Through World Vision I have also given "gifts" of fishing gear, warm coats, chicken, etc in my family members' names for Christmas, as I think it is important that charities not just provide money and food to the needy, but animals and tools so that with basic necessities families can build a livelihood to survive. I hope you all will give in my name to this wonderful org.
This is one of my favorite organizations which fights poverty, hunger, and injustice through a number of programs including child sponsorship, advocating against human trafficking(slavery), and providing ways for families to have steady incomes. They are a global organization, helping people in both the United States and in other counties. You can find out what they are doing in your country at their website(www.worldvision.org), by clicking "Our Work" --> "International Work" in the upper left corner.
Your contribution DOES make a difference.
I've two children and whilst I think my two girls are blessed with their life, there are many others who are less lucky.
World Vision has been helping the less luckier children for years. And I believe every single donation, big or small, make a difference.
I love this charity because if you choose to sponsor a child they keep you updated and send you gifts and cards in the mail to send to the child of your choice. You can write to the child and see where exactly your money is going.
World Vision's profits go straight to the people. They're are one of the top charities and are BBB accredited.
World Vision extend their relief beyond the borders of most non-profits. They seek to relieve world hunger, homelessness, and more.
The annual 30 Hour Famine gives participants the experience of fasting from food for 30 hours, and with the money they don't spend on food, they can provide meals and feed a child for just a dollar a day.
Hello! My 19th birthday is here :) Usually, I would tell my closest friends what I want for my birthday. This year is no exception, but I'm asking for something different.
I'm asking everyone I know to donate a little to charity: to give to support the education of 10 children. See: http://donate.worldvision.org/OA_HTML/xxwv2ibeCCtpSctDspRte.jsp?section=10372.
While I have been blessed with great education, millions of other children around the world are not. Tragically, 75 million primary-school-age children are not in school. One reason? Without the money for basic education supplies like pencils and paper, children from developing countries are often turned away from school because they can’t fully participate.
Your gift can help pay for these children's school fees or provide essentials like school uniforms, textbooks, backpacks, and school supplies — helping ensure that one child in poverty can receive what he or she needs to get an education.
100% of every dollar you donate to my birthday campaign will be used to fund the education of children.
Please donate to my campaign and make it the best ever :) I hope that you will support this effort to make the lives of these children better. Because it is my 19th birthday, donate $9/$19/$190 or any number with a 9 :)
